Those w/ Mcleod Street twin inside

Who here has a street twin installed on their car and just bolted it right in without balancing the flywheel/PP? I want to install mine but I've been told to balance the new flywheel to the old then the new PP to the new rebalanced flywheel but I also get people telling me to just throw it in and it should be fine. So whats the way to do it? Has anyone just put it in their car right out of the box without any problems? Has anyone put it directly in and ended up having problems? Any help or experiences you've had with this would be much appreciated.

i had to have mine balanced. i put it in and had a very bad vibration. turns out the pressure plate was WAY off.

then .... a friend used his right out of the box with no problems.

I suppose I'll just go get it balanced then to make sure. Better safe than sorry and I don't want to do this job twice if I can help it.

You have to balance the Mcleod S/T to your crankshaft just like you should do with any other aftermarket clutch set-up. LT1 are neutral balanced on the front but must be balanced at the rear.

Anyone here install the street twin themselves? I think I either lost the instructions for the master cyl install, or they dont give them out... Either way, in the bag of 2 screws that came with it there is a metal plate with a clover stamped on it, and a slot cut out of it, what is it for?

How do you balance the whole clutch assembly?

mcleod balance's the entire assy.. They then mark it w/ a blue/black marker as to how it's to be installed.. It comes the way it needs to be installed.. IF you put it together "EXACTLY" how you take it apart you'll have no problems.. Trust me...

<-----------Guilty of using the search button.

Does the McLeod flywheel have the EXACT same balance as a stocker? I'm building a 383 right now, and have already had my rotating assembly balanced with my stock flywheel, I'd hate to get this clutch and have it screw up my balance?
