third and fourth gear gone after only 3,000 miles

I had a local builder build my 4l60e and now after only 3,000 miles I have no 3rd or 4th gear WTF? This happened right after my longtube install. Are there any wires that could have been melted or is my 3/4 cluches toast?

If the car feels like it neutrals on he 2-3 shift then likley yes the 3-4 clutch set is gone.

Yes. A 1-2-neutral shift usually means you've lost your 3-4 clutches. What condition is the fluid in? Does it smell burnt, or is it discolored? If you're interested in having it built, again, feel free to give me a call. You won't have to worry about your 3-4 clutches (or anything else) if let us build one for you. Unfortunately, many "local shops" just don't know what these transmission need or want...Then again, many so called "4L60E professionals", only THINK they know...LOL

Thanks,
Frank

Thats the odd thing, The fluid is still nice and pink with no burnt smell and no signs of burnt clutches in the fluid? I still have 7 months left on the warranty but Frank When I save up $1400 I will be sending the tranny to you.

There's an outside chance that the lugs may have broken off the input drum that hold the 3-4 snap ring in.

Do you think your "race build" will hold up to the mods in my sig?

What kind of 60 ft. times are you pulling? Any lower than 1.7X and you should really consider the "Pro Race"...Our "Race" unit is still a better unit than many sell for $2500.
Give me a call, and we can talk about it a little more in detail.

Thanks,
Frank
