Thinking about a torque converter..

So I've been thinking about adding a new torque converter to my Z28, but I'm clueless on this subject. The car is basically stock and I doubt I will go much further than bolt-ons since its a daily driver. I dont plan on racing it but I want to be able to launch with a little more authority and it'd be nice to be able to stab the throttle and break the tires loose at 30mph. I just dont want to have to rev the hell out of it to get it going when I'm putting around. So would something like a Vigilante 2800 get me what I want? And how different is driving a car with just a stall than a stall+shift kit? And what "size" will fit a stock 4l60e..9.5"? What do I need to be looking for?

Contact each manufacturer of aftermarket torque convertors, tell them your needs, and after getting responses, average the reply information and that should suit your needs.Every reply will/would probably be different in stall RPM,stall torque ratio, and convertor diameter.Averageing all the return data would give you a good starting point for deciding.General consensus of forum users is go higher than what you think you would like.
