Question TH 350 swap-94Z28 questions.

Ok I am really over changing the 4L60E's out and want to go with the TH350 for price and reliability reasons. The OD doesn't mean that much to me. What all is need to do the swap? And has anyone come up with a adapter yet to run the speedo?

You will need a TH350 and a TC.
Stock TA or stock style TA you will use the B&M kit for the swap, it has all that you need.
Non Stock TA style you can get your stock trans crossmember modified to work.
I am using the Dakota Digital SGI 5A and the SEN 01 to run the speedo.
You will also need/want a shifter.

Not that bad of a swap...oh and a dip stick tube from MadMan.

Why not go for a TH400 if you don't care about OD?

Either one is fine for this application. and if the 2 are built right i can not see the difference. other than the TH350 being lighter, from what i have been told. but this debate rages on for ever.

Plenty of fast cars with both set ups...

Thanks alot for the info, was wondering about the B&m kit since they actually list it for a 3rd gen, and hadn't been able to get anyone to help me with the speedo. thanks again.

From what I remember, the th400 is more close in length to the auto trans you have now, might even fit without having to cut up the driveshaft, plus that trans is stronger

I used the 9" tail shaft for the TH350, stock DS is used in my car.

I just picked up a 94Z w/396 stroker with a worked TH400 and want to hook up a speedometer and odometer. What parts are needed for the project? How difficult is it to do?

Thanks

Go to LJ's site and you will find the GM part numbers for the TH400 set up.
