terrible clunk need help please

I recentlly bought my 93 TA a4 and for the past month of so i sometime noticed a rubbing sound under normal acceleration till about 40mph. My gramps had the same exact sound with his old iroc el camino because his air shocks would get low and the driveshaft would rub. So i figured my car was too low so i'm gonna do my suspension soon. But the other night i drag raced some dude and at the top of first gear i hear this terrible clunking sound comng from the driveshaft area. I'll get 1-3 seperate clunks when i drive hard at the top of first gear but the car shifts fine otherwise. I havent noticed anything when i drive slow. i did some searching seraching and i guess it could possibly be a tranny mount. Any help would be appreciated.

You hit it on the nose.... Check the tranny mount... You can pick a rubber one up pretty cheap or go with a poly one.... Takes about 15 minutes to change out....
