TCI's 6 speed auto

http://www.compperformancegroupstore...Category_Code=

Package part number includes TCI® 6x Six-Speed Transmission, Transmission Control Unit, Paddle Shifter, Wiring Harness, Transmission Cooler and Dipstick.

As the world’s first aftermarket 6-speed automatic transmission capable of handling 850hp, you better believe this is an amazing piece of engineering! The TCI® 6x Six-Speed Automatic Transmission gives you six forward gears (2.97, 2.31, 1.57, 1.18, 1.00, 0.75) for quicker acceleration and increased fuel economy at cruising speeds. This versatile transmission fits Chevy Small Block, Big Block and LS series engines and features a compact design allowing it to work in a variety of vehicle applications including pro touring, street or race vehicles. When used with a TCI® Transmission Control Unit and TCI® Paddle Shifter, you get the most functional and modern drivetrain combination on the market for your vehicle.

Special Notes
Each TCI® Transmission Control Unit is tested and shipped as a matching unit containing a base tune

All 6x 6-Speed Transmissions come with the 1997 & later GM LS Engine Transmission Case which will fit LS or any conventional GM/Chevy Engines
Pretty much exactly what I want. 6 speed auto with paddle shifters but I won't be pushing more than 550-600 rwhp and the price is ridiculously high at $6000+

Although this is an old topic, it deserves a response. I think this is really cool, but extremely expensive. Sucks that they don't offer one that isn't such overkill. It'd be neat to have a 4th gen with less than 400 hp and a nice 6-speed automatic. Very neat... especially if it would hook up to an LT1.

I have paddle shifters in my GXP. They are fun for downshifting to save on brakes (or to brake even more quickly without really braking hard), but since it's a 4-speed, it's kind of pointless. 1st is really high ratio, and there's not a whole lot of difference between 3rd and 4th. I don't know the ratios, but the combination it has doesn't make it very fun. I believe 2nd tops out around 80-100mph, which I think is waaaaay too high. I'm able to drive 30 mph at about 900 rpm in 4th and the same speed in 3rd is about 1000 rpm. 4th is kind of pathetic, and I wish it was a lower ratio. Anyway... I'm off subject now.

I'd probably opt for the less expensive version without paddle shifters for a '93-'97 Z28 if it'd hook up to an LT1. It's still really expensive. http://www.compperformancegroupstore...gory_Code=6XGM

Somebody on ls1tech put a 6-speed auto 6L80 (2010 Camaro/2006 Corvette/etc.) on I believe an LS3. I haven't read the topic in full yet, as it's 2am. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conver...o-does-go.html
