As long as you install a shift kit and a tranny cooler you should be fine. What hurts your tranny is the slippage when it shifts.

Nothing wakes up an A4 like a 3000 or above stall Torque Converter.

A TC and headers were my best two mods so far.

Good Luck,

Al

i just had my entire transmission rebuilt and upgraded.

the torque converter is a HUGE improvement, but w/ all the racing parts will make it sift like u never thought before.

it's sooooo hard to explain to u what my car feels like now compared to last year w/the stock tranny. let's just say it's waaaaay better

The biggest killer of transmissions is heat. Tranny cooler and shift kit will help a lot with that. Since you have an LS1 I've heard 3200-3800 stalls are just awesome. I have a 3000rpm in my LT1 and absolutely love it.

Nope, shouldn't make any difference as long as you do all the necessary precautions. The only reason things would start to break is because your making too much power for what you have, I don't see you getting there yet. I see your rear going long before the tranny does, and I think you'll still be fine for a long time with the stock rear.

It all depends on how you drive. If you drive it hard it will wear hard on your transmission. But that's true even with the stock converter.

The stock tranny is only good for approximately 375 Ft-LBS of torque. If you only have a converter, shift kit, tranny cooler and headers you should be fine. If you add a high lift cam and stage two heads, your tranny will be on barrowed time.

Good luck,

tranny rebuilds are part of life i have a tci 3500 tranny cooler and no shift kit high milage tranny to boot but no probs so far i just go from mod to mod and save a little extra encase somthing breaks

go for it better to have gone fast and broke somthing then to never have gone fast at all
