TA Stud and Girdle Kit/Gears
TA Stud and Girdle Kit/Gears
Anybody had any luck with these on our 10 bolts? I found that Thunder Racing is having a sale on theirs and it sure is a WHOLE lot cheaper than doing a 12 bolt swap. I don't plan on doing an axle swap anytime soon and I still wanted to something to help out my stock rearend for some good traction. I am also thinking about throwing in some 3.73s while I am in there but some people say that defeats the purpose of the 1st gear ratio of our A4 trannys. Any suggestions?

Re: TA Stud and Girdle Kit/Gears
I am running 3.73s in an A4 with a TA rear girdle.
I am not slamming it with 1.5 sixty foots but I run the car hard most of the time and it does pull 1.90 with the Nittos and so far I am a firm believer in the girdle.
Its cheap insurance really but if your pushing lots of horsepower and the car hooks good its just a matter of time before you need to upgrade the rear.

Re: TA Stud and Girdle Kit/Gears
Ok I just ordered the kit. Do you think the 3.73s really kill gas mileage that bad compared to 3.42s on street driving? Also that they defeat the purpose of having our low first gear because of traction?
Re: TA Stud and Girdle Kit/Gears
Huge difference in gas mileage? If so how much? I have 3.23s right now and if it is that bad I might just bump up to some cheap 3.42s if they will even do anything for me. I definitely need some good mileage but I never really get on the highway that often.
