T56 is starting to whine

It does it in every gear but 4th. It just started to get really bad recently, but what can I say I put it through hell. At this point Im just trying to get an idea of the possible problem. Car still drives and shifts the same. My guess is maybe the front race but why not in fourth?

So you've put 937whp through a stock t56? Man that shows how built that tranny really is from the factory!

Re: T56 is starting to whine

That's exactly what happened to a few of my T56's.

With mine, the input shaft gear and countershaft gears were starting to chip, until they eventually disentegrated.

I think 4th is quiet because it's direct driven (not through the countershaft)

Re: T56 is starting to whine

my car whines quite a bit when going slow, just like it's a t-trim, but it's not a t-trim j/k..anyway, it kind of does this whine up with the rpms from the tranny when going slow...any ideas?

Did you end up getting stranded somewhere or did you loose gears when they went?
