T56 Removal Issues

I've dropped my engine & tranny together. I've unbolted the bellhousing-engine bolts and tried to slide the transmission off the block. It will only get about 2 inches off, but no further. I've also tried unbolting the tranny-bellhousing bolts to just pull the transmission from the bellhousing...still no progress. In both cases, I've made sure the shift lever is in neutral, and that the transmission and engine are aligned so as not to add extra torque or bend the shaft. Am I missing something, or do I just need to wiggle/pull a little harder?

I just went through the same thing. You have to take the slave cylinder cover off then pry the shaft that's in there away too disingage it. Then itll pull right off.
