T56 noise normal?

Hi im new to this site and had a quick question about the T56 trans. I have a 68 camaro I resently installed a 95 camaro drive train in. I have noticed only when trying to take off on a slight hill it will make a funny moaning-grinding noise. Is this normal? Any input is appreciated thanks!!!

The T56 is somewhat noisy in neutral, but I don't have any unusual noises in 1st-6th gears.

Hey it's normal, but that doesn't excuse GM for building it that way. My Corvette does that, too. It's called the 'can of marbles' sound.

Does it make that noise after the clutch is locked up? If so at a specific RPM? If so what kind of clutch disk is in it?

BORG- WARNER/ TREMIC, makes the tranny cant blame GM for that, aside from it being a little loud the things are bullet proof

Thanks for clarifying that for us. Maybe GM should have tested it, then, before putting it on our cars and asked BORG- WARNER/ TREMIC to tighten up the lash so a $70k car doesn't sound like garbage taking off from a stop.
