T56 issues

So the other day I was driving my car, went to shift it into third at about 3/4 throttle, and it ground and popped out of gear. Great, I thought, I must have messed up one of my synchros. Well, since the car is somewhat of my daily driver, I decided to keep driving it, and just not use third gear, because it's not like it's that important for anything but acceleration anyway.

This is where the issues begin. I was at a stop light a couple days later, and the car pops out of first when I'm turning right and I get rear ended! The back bumper is just minorly scuffed, so I talk to the girl and we go our seperate ways.

After driving starting out in second gear to get home, I go for a short ride the next day trying to figure out what issues I'm having. Turns out every gear on that side of the shifter, including reverse, seems to have the same issues going on, but if I hold onto the shifter with some force, the gear grabs and works fine! I'm at a loss as to what the issue could be now. I would love to take it to a tranny shop to get checked out, but I'm quite poor right now and I want to know what I'm getting into.

Past tranny info: I just recently changed the clutch to a Spec Stage 1 about 8 months ago, the throwout bearing came apart, and so I replaced that with a stock replacement from the dealer. The car has about 90k miles on it.

Any light someone could shed on what my problem may be would be greatly appreciated. I have done some searching on here, but it turns out that most people don't tend to have problems with the T56. What great luck I have to get the lemon in a semi bullet-proof tranny!

Sheared syncro keys can cause your symptoms but you really need to pull the tranny out an inspect it. I managed to cut my keys when my clutch floater plate became warped and it acted as you describe. I sent mine off to 56 rebuilds for a refresh and had Mclead rebuild my street twin
