t56 install

this is for car in sig. i know this is the wrong forum, but there hasnt been anyone in drivetrain since this morning. just wondering if it is worth trying to install tranny/bellhousing as 1 unit or should it be taken apart and installed seperatly. my mechanic has the car right now and tried installing as 1 unit, but said he couldnt get the input shaft to go into the T/O bearing. he said the shaft keeps coming in lower than the bearing.

I did mine seperatly, and make sure the cluch fork is pulled back or you won't get it on. Other than that mine was easy.

Re: t56 install

You will have a much easier time installing each unit seperately.

Re: t56 install

anyone else try this without seperating the bell and tranny? last time i did the clutch was back in April when i put in that piece of crap Spec, and we put it in as one unit. is there something different about the Mcleod single disc setup that would make it so we couldnt get it back in?
