t56 identification, maybe rare

Hi, I recently purchased a 1995 lt1 trans am t-top 6spd car, i am converting it over to an ls1, my question is, when i took the 6speed spart, i found diffrent gear ratios in it than that what came from the factory, 2.29-1st 1.53-2nd, 1.12 3rd, 1.00 4th, .063 5th, .43 6th, this was done by counting the gear teath. the tranny also has carbon fiber sync liners, some blockers have skipped teeth, and the 1st gear manshaft, has a diffrent teeth angle than the others, 27 spline output shaft, the car had 98,000 miles but the tranny componenets look very new, i ran the car with the lt1 converted it over to carb set up, and with stock exhaust manifolds, 4.11 ford 9'' rear it went 13.01@107.87, horrible 1.95 60 ft, which is faster than most stock lt1 ta's weighing 3540 with driver, what kind of t56 is this?. Thanks

Looks like a standard T56 from what you're describing; I'm pretty sure its from a '93 though as those had the 2.29 first gear instead of the 2.66 from the 94-02.

Thumbs up Re: t56 identification, maybe rare

Thank you very much for the information, i called the gear box, and he said you dont just divide the gears, but there is a formula to figure it out. I'm not a brain surgeun, but it should be the same as figuring out a ring and pinion gear.
