T56 grinding while clutch is pressed in!!!!?????

I think I've got something bad happening with my T56. I've been having problems, feeling a slight grinding going from 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4. Mostly on the 1-2 shift. Tonight, I would put the tranny in 2nd, accelerate to 4000 rpms, push the clutch in and hold it....while I'm holding it in, not trying to shift out of 2nd mind you, something starts grinding like heck. I mean a grinding like your trying to put it in gear without using the clutch. After that, it will not go into 1st without grinding for 1 shift. That is strange.....seems to be if I shift below 2500 I get no grinding, although it is a little a little fussy about going to the next gear. I mean it takes more pressure than in the past to get it in gear. Will bad syncros do this type stuff? I mean it is acting really strange, especially the grinding with the clutch pushed in.... Any ideas?

Sometimes I get a slight grind, however it will grind when I accelerate in 2nd to 4000 rpms (and above), push in the clutch, and just hold the clutch down. I mean, I don't even try to move it out of second and it will grind badly. I don't know what to make of it.

Edit:2016.....Not sure what the above issue was, but the trans did develop a shifting problem that was caused by preload issues with the main shafts in the trans....bearing wear. The loose bearings were causing shift problems. Tick Performance rebuild the trans and all has been good for several years.
