t56 conversion impossible with long-tube headers??

Hey guys,

let me start out by saying that I am very frustrated. I have pace-setter long-tube headers and it seems IMPOSSIBLE to get the slave cylinder and master cylinder routed from the clutch pedal to the clutch itself. It is too wide to go in-between the headers and there is not enough space to run it between the header and the fender.

It seems like I have tried every way possible to try to jam it through. The slave and master cylinder are just too wide! I even tried taking the motor mount off to try to lift the motor on one side a little to get some extra room - but cannot lift it enough due to the bottom of the headers hitting the floor board.

I'm sure people have done the 6-speed conversion with long tube headers on. There must be a way to do it that I haven't thought of....

what do I do??...

Just disconnect the line from the slave cylinder and hook it back up once you've routed it!!! So you'll have to bleed a little air out of the line?! If you can't fit it all through there otherwise, then why fight with it. Disconnect it!

I already took the rubber line off of the resevior - so that is seperated.

I did not know that you can disconnect the metal line tubing that runs into both the slave cylinder and master cylinder. It looked to me like they were pressed on or something. But that would be amazing if I could disconnect them. How would I get them off??

Thanks in advance for the help.... Everyone is very good about sharing their insights.
