T -56 problem
I just bought a 96 Z-28 with a T-56 and 3rd jumps out of gear then after the first time I really got on da gas n shifted hard into 2nd gear it started to make a gear noise not grinding bit noisy gears and now 2nd gear grinds ever time I shift onto it either downshifting or going from 1st to 2nd ... does anybody know what my problem could be ?

Popping out of gear is typically caused by:
-damaged synchros -damaged blocker rings -shift forks loose on rail or damaged Grinding gears typically caused by: -Bent or worn shift forks -damaged synchros -pilot bearing binding or worn Shoebox has an online copy of the T56 service manual: http://shbox.com/1/t56_service_manual.pdf |
