Question Swaping rears?

Hello I need to know If it is possible to install a rear out of a 00 Z28 with Traction control on my 01 Formula with the non Traction control.I beleive to what im reffering to is that the 00 z28 (3.23) with traction control is a 4 channel and I guess mine would be a 3 channel deal.Any of you guys know what would I need to make the rear work?I dont need to Traction on.

What gears are currently in your car, and what gears are you getting?

The problem is, a diff without trac-control has a blank where the ABS sensor needs to go on the top of the pumpkin (directly above the reluctor wheel that's mounted beside the ring gear). The trac-control diff uses axles with reluctor wheels at the outsides, near the wheel hubs. I think it would be easier going from non-trac-control to a rear with trac-control, vs. doing what you're doing. If your car currently has 3.23's though, and you're getting a 3.42 rear end (just guessing? for example) I'd suggest just swapping the ring & pinion, but if you've currently got 2.73's, and you want to put in a 3.42 diff w/trac-control (even though you'll be eliminating the trac-control) I think you could probably drill out the hole where the ABS sensor nees to go, and then you'll have to swap axles I think, to use the axles without the reluctor wheels? Oh, but then you'd still need the reluctor wheel on the carrier......hmm, I dunno if those can be swapped or not?

I think you should look into doing a ring & pinion swap, cause I think it'll be too hard to make the trac-control rear end work for your normal 3-channel ABS rear?

Sorry, I'll try to keep it simple.

What gears do you currently have? 2.73's or 3.23's?

If you currently have:

A) 2.73's --- don't use that rear end.....buy the ring & pinion gear set for the ratio you want (ie: 3.42, 3.73, whatever). 2.73's use a 2-series carrier.

B) 3.23's --- get that other rear end, but just take the ring & pinion and put them onto your current 3.23 carrier. 3.23's use a 3-series carrier, so gears such as factory 3.42's will bolt onto the 3.23 carrier no problem.
