Stupid Question(regaurding 9inch)

I am putting my center piece in the housing tomorrow but i was wondering how set the studs...do u just put them in as best u can and put the center piece in, then tighten bolts and the studs will seat completely? i know this is a stupid ? but im really not sure and i dont want to mess it up.

Well I am building a race car and have a Ford 9 for it but have not had the studs taken out of it.
You can use some Lock-tight on them if you want but I don't think you have to but why not won't hurt any thing just don't get the high strength just get like the vibration proof one or the medium strength.
Screw them in till they are flush with the bottom of the front Lip.
Put your gasket on put the center chunk on put your nuts on and just tighten them in a Cris cross direction.
Toque it to spec any your done.

When I put the studs in I get a couple of extra nuts 3/8 X 24 with out the nylock in them and a couple of washers and grease them up well and pull them through slowely. Take your time they will seat.
