For strength which gear ratio is best 373 or 410

I have a 96 WS6 about 400 to the rear with a 6 speed , i'm changing gears til I can upgrade to a better rear end. I have a girdle, welded tubes and upgraded axles, I want to put in the stronger of the two ratios. I have hear varied opinions on this what is yours?
Thanks

I believe the higher the ratio the weaker they become.. I could be wrong. BUt i would assume then that the 3.73 would be stronger the then 4.10. Im sure someone more certain will chime in tho

3.73 will have more meat on the gear teeth

A4 doesn't put as much stress on the rear as the M6 does.

Depends what you're doing with the car though, and also what tranny you've got. As mentioned, an A4 will be A LOT easier on the diff than an M6 (but then it's almost pointless swapping from the factory 3.42's to 3.73's if that's what you're planning on doing? )

Yeah, going just to 3.73 is almost worthless. The 4.11 has even less teeth than the stock gear ratios.

You broke some 4.11's but not the 3.73s? Is it because you drive safer on the new gears?

Yes, my gears are stamped with GM.

10 teeth on the pinion and 41 teeth on the ring gear (41/10= 4.10)

9 teeth on the pinion and 37 teeth on the ring gear (37/9 = 4.11)
