which stock carrier is stronger for 373 gears the 2 series carrier or the 3 series?

which stock carrier is stronger for 373 gears the 2 series carrier or the 3 series?

iam wondering which carrier is stronger the 2 series or the 3 series? i planing to put 373 gears in my 2 series carrier for my 00 z28, or should i buy a 3 series carrier and put 373 gears in it? or is both carriers about the same strength?

They're the exact same. The only difference is 1/4" offset where the ring gear bolts onto the carrier. It's further "left" (looking from the back of the car) on a 2-series carrier to accommodate typically larger pinion gears, but to put 3.73's onto the 2-series carrier just means that the ring gear will be 1/4" thicker (that's actually "stronger" IMO).
