Stock 10 Bolt ?
Stock 10 Bolt ?
How much will it hold? I have a decent suspention setup that allows me to hook pretty good, torque arm, lower control arms with relocation brackets, and am running drag radials. The car is factory weight t top car. I have a centerforce dual friction clutch and am planning to build a new motor. Say im launching at 3grand how much power will the stock rear end(3.42 gears) hold at the track? Any suggestions where to go for a 12 bolt or 9 inch? Also how much abuse will the stock driveshaft take?
Re: Stock 10 Bolt ?
Stock 10 bolt + mods + 3,000 rpm launchs= SHORT LIFE EXPECTENCY!! I went through like five 10 bolts in my M6 1995 with mac headers, catback & some other bolt on's that was making JUST shy (296) of 300 RWHP and like 343 rwtq. That was 2800 rpm launchs and power shifts.....but it always let go before the 1-2 shift. I'd go 12 bolt, less parasitic loss then a 9" & can get ABS setup. I did NOT ever go with a 12 bolt. I blew my left knee out & had to get an auto.
Hope that helps! lol

Re: Stock 10 Bolt ?
Its really a hit or miss situation. Your 10 bolt may live through several years of abuse or it may kick the bucket the first time you test it. Moser and Strange both make good aftermarket rearends.
