Re: Stage 5 clutch

very harsh engaugement....daily driver use with probably wear it out quickly.

i know my stg 4 is pretty annoying to drive in traffic...an unsprung disc makes it very on/off ...not much slipping

In my opinion I would use the Mcleod Street Twin instead. It is a little more expensive, but I believe well worth it.

I've heard that you can run it but it's very harsh and you'll probably tear the flywheel up super fast as it was never designed for all the slipping that would go on during stop and go driving...I also heard one guy mention that it squeals really badly too

Re: Stage 5 clutch

Thanks guys...just wondering cause I fried my centerforce dual friction stage 3 clutch while doing a linelock burnout. So I figure maybe I better go with at least a stage 4 or a different brand. Thanks for the input.

Even for under say 500rwhp?
I do see a lot of good threads about the twin, just hard to justify the cost sometimes

I hear ya the cost is high, but when you factor in flywheel, and adjustable master cylinder it really equals out. I figure it like this 1065.00 for 1 Mcleod or 4-5 hundred for another clutch, a few times.

The ST is an awesome clutch. It's a thing of beauty, can be daily driven, and can hold all the horsepower you'll ever have. If you ever wear it out, McLeod can rebuild it for you for significantly less than the cost of a new one.

I got my ST from VRE a few months ago.
