ST & truetrac review

I installed a ST w/alluminum fw and a detroit truetrac a few weeks ago. I have to say that I am plesantly supprised with the ST's driveability. It's not bad at all. I can't belive how many people on this board talked all that 'undriveable' crap. It's sweet, a little grabby but good (nothing someone can't learn to compensate for in about 2 min). I can slip it into gear no problem.
The truetrac seems to be the answer to all my prayers. For you 12 bolt guys out there that want a good posi this is it . I had the eaton HD posi when I bought the 12 bolt, and that POS spit a spider gear tooth out in 2 passes. Not only that, but when you where trying to make a turn the car would 'rachet'. Then I went with a spool because I didn't want to buy another $500 junk posi. That was a big mistake. It never broke, but the car wouldn't turn anymore . I can't imagine anything more horrible than a spool on the street. For you guys out there that don't know what I mean, immagine going down the street at 35 mph and approaching a turn. When you got to the point of having to turn the wheel more than 20 degrees the car looses almost all it's speed. Tight parking garages are also a night mare. It takes all the fun out of driving the car .
The truetrac on the other hand seems to be sent from hevan. It's compleetely invisable to the driver. Silky smooth and never a 1 wheel peel. It just works like it's supposed to. I guess that's all for now. I hope that the info is useful. If any one has questions please feel free to ask. I say this because when I was researching the truetrac I didn't come up with any thing.

The ST will get even better with a few miles on it. After a few hundred miles of break-in they're less grabby. Definitely a DD-friendly clutch that can hold tons of power.
