Question SS & TA drivetrain problems????

I'm looking into getting a 99-02 SS or TA and am trying to get as much info as i can on them. Are there any major problems everyone seems to have? The car will for sure be a manual cause I could never have an automatic. Any help would be great.

The only real "weak link" is the diff. The factory 10-bolt only uses a 7-5/8" ring gear, and they're very prone to premature failure (and it can be any component ... the ring, pinion, or in some cases, the actual carrier will grenade!!). Getting an M6 (6-speed) is GOOD because you get the T56, which can handle a little more power stock than the 4L60E (A4 - 4-speed auto) but it's BAD because they're even harder on the diff . But just drive nice and you should be ok .

Otherwise, there normally aren't too many other problems with the F-bodies. Just the big stuff ... diff and transmission!! (again, mainly the A4).
