Find out how much was taken off and then get a shim for the flywheel.

Or Buy the shim first and ask them to take that much material off.

The only shim I could find was .050"

Re: Specs for resurfaced flywheel?

My local tranny shops and Napa carried .025 and 0.050 shims.

Stock thickness is 1.828.

My flywheel after the second resurfacing was 1.798
I used a .025 and have no problems.

I used no shims. I just had the flywheel resurfaced, and went with it. All was good, untill my spec stage 2 took a ****

If you can resurface stock consider your self lucky. I had 50/1000 in. taken out of mine just to see if It would turn out. Thanks to the previous owner this was not going to be an option. I was fortunate enough to find one at the GM Stealership for a nominal fee. (~$300)

Re: Specs for resurfaced flywheel?

After a search I've found a bunch of threads where people are asking, but the majority are all older - so in recent years, has anyone figured out the minimum safe thickness for the stock t56 flywheel????
