SPEC Stage III

In general, what RWHP would you estimate a SPEC Stage III clutch would be good for given that the stickiest tire I'll run is a Street legal Drag radial?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: SPEC Stage III

Spec Rates them for 680hp, I don't think it will hold up to that much at the strip with a sticky tire. Some people consider the Spec 4 over the spec 3 if you have a good amount of power.

Re: SPEC Stage III

I had 575 rwhp & 618 tq and my spec III lasted 1 track day. I did get one 10.5 (1.45 60')pass out of it but all the rest where mid 11's. After I took it appart the f-wheel and pp where blue and the disk was 1/2 gone. I like the spec clutches, but I decided to go with the alum street twin for my new setup. I guess if you have 4XX tq (or less) you should be safe with it.
