so if you have it why do you need opinions on it? I don't think many people are runing that clutch, i have heard of one guy that tried it on his daily driver and took it out the next week. My spec III works great though.

I am considering one right now, may go with the stage IV instead if you can't take off slow without screeching with the stage V.

Please post your impressions of it.

I really don't see the point of the stage 5 unless you're running at least 700 hp. And even if you had more you could probably get away with the stage 4 unless you're launching really hard. The stage 4 even has different material choices so you can decide how durable you want it to be, & no springs in the disc hub to break. A stage 5 to me seems comparable to an auto that stalls at 5k rpm. I don't even know if the stage 5 was really designed to wear properly for street use. It will certainly be one rough ride around town. If you like that sort of thing, go for it, but there will definitely be some driveability issues.

yea, the stage 5 is basically an iron disc, i would deff go with the stage 4 over that. My III is still holding good as well but the 4 dosen't have the sprung hub so that is prolly the way to go. If you have the money the street twin is the way to go.

I drop the clutch at 6500 on spray and on a 3680 pound car with 680 rwtq you need all the clutch you can get.I went through 2 street twins it ended up with the credit card company getting my money back when they claimed it could hold a 1000 tq. The reason I ask was street life. Also Iron disks were opioned in some baldwin sold camaro's in 69. They also use the same matarial for clutches for 18 wheelers. I have installed many.
Iam tring to see how many peeps out there have went this route beside me.

I like the noise. No one else can drive it, They tach just drops down way faster than with the street twins and the stage 3 and stage 3 with 5 material on the disk.

I run an Iron disk in my Formula. It's not a spec and I don't use a pull style PP anymore. The iron disk in mine is verrrrrry agressive. On the street, its like on or off, especially when it gets warmed up. It makes getting on the trailer a bit interesting, especially if there's a rainshower. It also screeches in pain even when trying to leave softly. But, It is one grabbing **** and the disk looks great after 1 season of 5000 RPM launches.

What did you do to get away from the pull type pressure plate?

Re: spec stage 5

I wanted a SFI certified bell housing and an adjustable preload pressure plate so I could get a bit of slip during launch and be a little kinder on my drivetrain.

Re: spec stage 5

I drove my spec stage 5 around on the street last night. To tell the truth to dont think i can tell the diffrence between the way it drives and the way the stage 3 did all thought i has been a month and a half since i drove the car.
