solid shifting

solid shifting

what is the best and most reliable method for producing hard shifts with the a4. should i go shift kit or increased line pressure with a hyper tech or both?

Provided that the transmission is in good shape I would go with a Transgo shift kit...I'm not real big on generic tuners like the hypertech...there are a lot of people here who have used companies like PCMforless, Madwolf, etc who can custom taylor shift points and I believe line pressure as well, which will just enhance the performance of your shift kit...There is also a servo, some call the Corvette servo that also firms up the shifts, but I believe the trans has to be out in order to properly replace it..If you have any doubt as to the condition of your trans I would do a full rebuild because none of the above will cure any ailments...hope this helps a little

I'm pretty sure f-body a4's (ls1's anyway) already have the corvette servo.
