Solid pinion spacer?

I'm getting ready to install some 4.10's in my stock rear. This install kit came with a solid pinion spacer...i have never used one of these before. I have only done a couple sets, but is this worth installing? does it take place of the crush washer? what should be the tightening torque? any other hints/tips? Does anyone have or know of any writeups on gear installs? thanks for any info

The solid spacer takes the place of the crush washer. And the set-up is the same only instead of crushing the washer 'till you get the required preload you change shims.

I think it's about the same level of difficulty.

Not that I know of.

It's about the same as far install goes. But if you have to take the pinion gear back out, you have to use a new crush sleeve, whereas with the solid piece, it can be re-used.
From what i have read on this forum, a lot of people like the solid spacer better. It's believed that it doesn't allow for as much movement like the crush sleeve.
