SLP Rear Diff Cover (AAM)
I recently purchased the SLP rear diff cover (AAM unit) and it came with instructions stating to remove the axle shafts and grind out some casting in the rear. I assume this is to allow oil to flow through the channel in the cover to the bearings.
My question is, do I have to do this to install the cover, or will it be ok to install it without notching out the casting? Does the stock cover direct oil up to the bearings, and if so, will installing the SLP cover without notching the diff cause the bearings to overheat?
Thanks,
Thomas.

Re: SLP Rear Diff Cover (AAM)
no, and it will still run cooler than the stock cover because it's aluminum.
kinda wished i had done the channelling, but i didn't either, just stuck it on too much hassle. anyone do the drilling out?
