Slipping Street Twin - Glazed or worn?

Ok, I have a bit over 3k miles on my McLeod Street Twin, and ~20 passes. On my way to work today, it was slipping a little during 2500 RPM roll ons. However, on the way home tonight, I couldn't get it to slip again.

Could glazing of the friction material cause this, and be temporary until it wears in again? Or does this indicate the friction material is used up already? Hard to believe it could by gone already. I got similar miles out of my Centerforce, with much more heavy traffic abuse and more like 100 passes.

Yesterday I got stuck in traffic for 10 minutes and was on and off it alot in stop and go, but I never smelled it. I was babying it as much as possible. I wonder if it maybe it got too hot, and glazed just enough to slip a few times, then healed.

Pedal feels normal, but engagement seems too soft, so I suspect I should just order new discs for it. However, after reading about guys getting over 100k street driving them, and multi-season drag racing them, I wanted to ask around before jumping to conclusions. Planning to put the new scattershield in this weekend, then race the following Wed., so I'd like have the discs on hand if it's likely I need new ones. But they are not cheap.

Thanks for any input.

Aww, never mind. It's slipping more. You all knew it would. So did I, I guess. I just ordered two new discs for $300.
