slave cylinder rod stuck. need advise

doing a clutch install ... i cant get the slave cylinder rod back into the cylinder to hook it back up. I dont want to force it because im getting a lot of resistance. does something near the clutch pedal need to be unhooked to allow it to move? I cant think of what it might be.

Thanks guys
Josh

Take the clutch fluid reservoire cap off!
Actually it takes some effort to push back on the rod, but it can be done with your hands, just go slowly.
Hope that helps
