Skip shift ?

Can the skip shift be tuned out of the computer or do you have to buy the little harness piece. I am in the middle of swaping my a4 over to a t-56 so that is why i figure i get that tuned out when i send my computer in for the convertsion anyway. Thanks

In the OBD-I cars (94/95), all you need to do is unplug the harness connector from the solenoid. Skip shift will no longer work. You will still get the little light in the corner of the dash when its supposed to be activated, but since you have an A4 currently, you won't have that light. It will set code DTC 84, but that does not turn on the SES light, or affect the way the car runs. If you want to avoid DTC 84, you put a 2,000 ohm resistor across the harness wires (or pins of the connector).

Since you will have to have your PCM reflashed to an M6 program, it will be just as easy/no extra cost to have it "tuned out" though.
