I've got a 94 A4 Z28 it has the very gay shifter with only 2nd gear - over drive control I want the option of first gear so is it posible to switch it out with one that has all gear selection on it

How come you don't just mod the one you have now?

 

I need to know what to do to mod my shifter

 

take the console off and you will see a plastic stop right where 1st should be. either drill it out like i did or you can find some easier way to do it that i didnt think of. very simple to do, just time consuming if you dont have the right size tools to get in there. oh yeah if you dont know how to remove the shifter there is a clip in front of it that you can pull off with some plires. and it should slide right up and off
