shifter problem

ok car is a 95 z28 A4.

Problem 1
The shifter has always been hard to push in, i gotta kinda shake it and press the button in pretty hard to get it to shift outa park. Any clue what could be causing this?

Problem 2
Changed over to a trans am shift **** a couple months ago. The other day i went to get in and the button went in easy, but it wasnt pushing down the little white stick on the shifter, so i could shift outa park. I think the white stick was bending instead of going down which could be attributed to problem one and it being hard to shift outa park. Put my camaro shift **** back on and it worked fine, still hard to push in though. Wheres a good placce to purchase that white shaft or do i need a whole new shifter assembly since it bent a little.

Hey sorry to hear about the problem. Honestly I would just go to the boneyard and try to find a Trans Am or Camaro and salvage the part, or the whole shifter.
