Shifter ****

Since my car has 140,000 miles, I'm looking to replace the shifter ****. The cheapest I have found is the Hurst **** from SLP for $25. I've found the same exact **** on some other sponsors for this site for a little more, and ebay has it a little cheaper but you never know where that auction might wind up.

I'm not looking to be super cheap, but you know if you can buy someone for x, then why pay Y? I'm just looking to get the best bang for the buck. I also saw the billet shifters for $38 engraved but I don't know if I'd like a metal shifter...it'd really suck in the winter time.

Any suggestions?

Re: Shifter ****

I will have to agree with the metal ***** in the cold or hot weather, but I still love the one I have. MBA red anodized with the Bird logo engraved.

In the summer I just toss one of my detailing towels that I always have in the car over it, that keeps it cool; But I don't have a solution for the 32* **** in winter time. But my car never sees winter.

Personally, I run an "Offset-T" handle shifter, made out of stainless. I'll try to remember and take a pic tonight. I'm sure you could find someone local to make one for you.

Re: Shifter ****

I decided to go with the standard "hurst shifter ****" from SLP. It has that nice stock feel to it and I was just looking to change my **** since most of the leather has worn off after 140,000 miles of use. It was also pretty economical as I was able to drive down to SLP to pick it up. $26 with tax...I saw them going on ebay for like $20-25 plus shipping as well as the for-sale forum.
