Shift kits

Here's the deal: I have a basically stock TH350 behind a mildly built, carbed 350. I want to put a shift kit in it to improve performance and maybe extend the life of the clutches and bands a little. Right now the 1-2 shift is fairly crisp, but 2-3 is pretty mushy and smooth (3700rpm converter). I want it to hit hard, but not so hard as to break anything inside the trans.

I have already eliminated B&M, as I have heard bad things about their stuff from a couple of people I respect. TransGo is nice, but $75 is more than I want to spend. If you can think of one I haven't listed, my price limit is in the $50 range.

Thanks guys!
