Sensor on rear?

I believe the sensor on the top of the pumpkin in the rear is the ABS sensor correct? I have my rear end out painting it and i rolled it over on the pallet and forgot about that sensor and brok the little clip that holds the wire. I was wondering how does that sensor come out and is it meshed with the gear on the differential? That is the relucualtor gear? So what i'm asking is does anyone know the part number and do i need to remove the cover to replace it? I just need some info on how it works. I can't find it in the Haynes.....lol

Re: Sensor on rear?

It is the ABS sensor and it doesn't "mesh" with the reluctor gear. It's a magnetic pick-up sensor which is spaced away from the reluctor gear, sensing the difference between a "tooth" and a void when the reluctor gear passes by. The sensor will come out of the top of the pumpkin.
