Richmond or strange?
Re: Richmond or strange?
Are you trying to be funny?!?!

Ok seriously, when you're talking about a 10-bolt and abuse, you're really playing with fire
. Which will take more, Strange or Richmond??
I dunno, either A) the one that gets abused less, or B) a 12-bolt!
Considering you've got an M6, I'm assuming you're thinking of 4.10's??
Well, I managed to bust a couple teeth off the pinion of my Richmond 4.10's, and that's behind an automatic
. Now you should know that this wasn't due to normal driving, nor was it drag racing. Not 'til I took my car on a road course did I really push the entire car to limits I've never pushed it before. That's where the gears failed, and only 3 weeks later, 2nd gear is starting to fail in my tranny
(and 2nd is the gear that I ran almost the entire course in).
Anyway, you could "try" Strange gears and see how they work? You could also run the Richmonds and probably have just as much luck with them. FWIW, mine installed easily, and they were really quiet (had a slight whine under acceleration only, but it was really faint ... not like the set of Richmond 3.73's I had that sounded like an ambulance chasing me
).
Good luck with whatever decision you make
.

Re: Richmond or strange?
first of all that little ten bolt holds up a little better than anyone gives it credit for. Mine has almost 90000 miles on it and not one of those miles was non abusive, I know that a 12 bolt or a 9 inch is a **** load stonger but at this point in time i dont need it to be that strong for 2000 bucks.
