Reeaally need your help with T-56

Okay, I apologize that I'm posting on here without owning a camaro, but, at least I'm staying loyal to Chevy I have a 280zx that I put a 350 and t56 (from a '97 formula) into. For about two years, the t56 operated without a problem, but the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch I had was chattering way too much, so I resurfaced the flywheel and switched over to a Spec Stage III. After roughly 1,000 miles (very lightly driven, mind you) I began to have a problem putting the transmission into gear.

One day, after it was sitting for about a week, it just wouldn't go. So, I replaced the slave cylinder with a reman. unit, but it still had the same problem. But, here's where it gets interesting. If I started it in neutral and then tried to put it in gear, it would not go in. However, if I started it in gear (with the clutch in), the car would surge a couple of times, followed by some metal to metal clanking and grinding noises for a couple of seconds (kinda sounds like a chain getting flung around the clutch), but afterwards I could go drive around without any problems. I could put it in 1st or Reverse from a stop without a problem. But, as soon as I turned the car off, I would have to repeat the process all over again.

A couple of days ago I replaced the reman. slave with a GM slave (obviously trying to rule out faulty hydraulics). Now, I'm having trouble putting it into gear all together. When I bleed the lines, I don't see any more air coming out -- just fluid. Now, when I installed the GM slave with the front of the car still jacked up in the air, I was able to start the car in neutral and put it in 1st after 3 pumps on the clutch. Other than that, it's been nothing but hell, and it's only getting worse. It's a PITA removing the transmission on that car, so I'm trying to get some other opinions first. I know there are a few T-56 gurus on here, so I'm hoping I can get some good advice. I talked to the transmission guy at work, and he said he's never heard of anything like that, and also suggested the hydraulics. I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find anything. Please help me with this problem before I tranny is scrap. Thanks!
