rear end weight

i have an 02 z28 with the m6 trans. my long term plans include a 600+bhp engine (turbo, maybe. not sure yet). i dont want it to be a drag car or anything, so handling is important to me as well. i know that the stock 10 bolt rear will never be able to handle that kind of power, so i definitely need to upgrade. the top contender seems to be the moser 12 bolt. does anybody know if thats much hevaier than stock, and if/how it affects handling? or any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: rear end weight

The Moser 12-bolt, at least last time I checked, has a problem with the torque arm being attached with 4 separate bolts, rather than the through-bolts used in the stock 10-bolt and the Strange 12-bolt. I believe BMR will not warrant their torque arm when used with the Moser, due to the tendency of the bolts to come loose.

I suspect you are looking at about 15# difference between the 10-bolt and the 12-bolt. I measured it once, but it was way too many years ago to remember. The Strange (Dana) 60 and the 9-inch are both heavier than the 12-bolt.

so you think a strange 12 bolt would be a better option? also, any idea if theres a torsen diff available that can handle that kind of power? as far as i know, theyre pretty much the best for road course use.
