What is the best way to fix a leak from the rear end cover? Right now theres a crappy gasket and its got sealant on it but it is leaking. Doesn't look like the sealant was even all around though. What worked for you guys?

take it off and replace the gasket w/ rtv. youll have to buy new oil too which is good maintance. Its not hard to take it off, unless its the first time its ever been off on the car.

Replace it. You do not need RTV sealant. Any cork or rubber gasket will do. Mine has held up since last summer when I changed my fluid.

Do both, get a gasket and put RTV on both sides of the gasket. Nothing wrong with a little extra security.

Do not use just sealant; I tried that a couple times and it always leaked. Tried using just a gasket on the new car and it seems to be doing ok, although it's only been a few weeks. Of course I also torqued all the bolts to spec in a star pattern this time too, which might have something to do with it as well...
