Rear end help

Ok i know you guys are going to say search, but i couldnt find a good detailed instruction on how to swap gears. I have 4.10's in my pretty much stock 96 SS, i dont like how fast the gears run out, i have to stock 3.42's to put back in, im pretty mchanically inclined i just have never messed with a rear end. How hard is it, how long will it take , and what tools do i need?

Thanks
-Justin
