Rear End Girdle worth it?

How effective are rear end girdles on the 7.5" 10 bolt rear to keep them from breaking?

I have 3.73s and run ET streets once a month launching off idle with a 3200 stall. I have 383 rwtq.

Depends on who you talk to. I emailed combination motorsports(site sponsor) and they said it was of little use other than looks and they tend to leak when they tried them. But on the other hand a local rearend builder said they were great. This was the same guy that said my 7.5" rear was as good as a 12 bolt and wants to buy my broken stock rear...

Personally if I were you I would save the $$ for a new 12 bolt or 9 inch. Even if it does help your only prolonging the inevitable 7.5" grenade. My 4.10's lasted a good 30 passes(w/o girdle and ~320rwhp) with street tires in my M6.

Its a great deal. With a stall and gears on top of 383 rwtq the stock rear end isnt gonna hold up on ET streets. Eventually a 12 bolt will be neccessary but a girdle for only $129 may give you an extra 1-2 years time to save up for one. Plus it never hurts to be safe. I run Drag radials as my daily tire that dead hook no spinning whatsoever on my car with 368 rwtq and i believe it staysin one piece b/c of the girdle, but I have 2.73s, i need to update the sig. Not to mention Im 18 and I drive prety hard. The shop fu(ked up the install really bad and they had to take em out and put the stock ones back in.

The reason I ask is because a local guy with an 86 Camaro has run for 2 yrs on 4.10 GM gears and the stock rear end with ET streets with no problems.

I think mine has helped my rear end live alot longer.
I have 3.73s and it gets driven pretty hard and I have had no problems, the last 3k miles it has had Nittos on it and I launch it as hard as I can.
