rear end clank

rear end clank

have a 96 A4 and when i am driving and i get off the gas and hit the brakes, then accelerate again, i hear this metal clank noise, only happens at low speeds, like in traffic.

Have you checked your rubber tranny mount? They happen to break over time.
Does it clunk when you hit the throttle, in gear?

yeah it only does it when i hit the throttle, in gear, and when it is moving.
