rear diff cover and stud kit worth it?
rear diff cover and stud kit worth it?
I can't decide if i should get a rear diff cover and stud kit when i change my oil after the 500 mile break in period. Can someone explain the whole "Bearing caps walking in the hosing" What does the cover do besides keep the oil in and make the pumkin sturdy? Just don't know if it's worth it. What do you guys think?
Re: rear diff cover and stud kit worth it?
The aftermarket diff girdles increase the rigidity of the rearend by sheer design and by placing a load on the bearing caps. It basically ties the whole system together.
Kinda like taking one bamboo.... pretty weak, but tie 10 together and you can build a house with the stuff.
If you're trying to get the most out of your stock rear, they're a good idea.
edit: corrected for the Ohioan
