Is it really a 2500 stall??
Is it really a 2500 stall??
The torque converter I had installed last weekend used to be a stock stall, then it was restalled to 2500. If I hold the brake I can bring the RPMs up to almost 2000. Then when I go WOT and let go of the brake it flashes up to 3000 immediately. Is that normal for a 2500 stall?? Does it sound a little higher than a 2500 possibly??

yes I know that, and you still didnt answer my question.
From reading my post, my car "stalls" at 1900 and "flashes" at 3000, correct?? What I'd like to know is that normal for a supposed quote "2500 stall converter"

Re: Is it really a 2500 stall??
yea... here's the issue, stall depends completely on your torque and rpm, for instance a stock 350 might only be able to flash that baby to 2500, and that's likely the basic rating. Now, you stroke to 383, put headers on, airgap intake, plug wires, HEI, headwork, 4.11 rearend etc that same 2500 stall may falsh as high as 3500, it all depends on your setup, rearends (change how fast you're going and how fast the torque converter has to move to catch the car up with the motor) and torque output at lower or higher rpms affect them the most though, as far as i have heard....
they also might have took the flash and brake stalls and averaged them to come up with the "stall"
so yea i wouldnt worry about it
