Re-use 10k mile LT4 PP with McLeod Single Disk?

I have an SLP LT4 (drilled) pressure plate and friction disk with about 10,000 miles on it. It has a couple of strip outings on a pretty stock LT1. Just got drag radials and found out this clutch cannot hold a launch over about 2K!

Could I re-use the PP if I can resurface it or does it always have to get replaced?

I plan on trying the McLeod 7500rpm single friction disk as I'm basically afraid of SPEC clutches under the level 4 after some research on here and can't afford a street twin.

Anyone with experience on this setup please also chime in!

Anyone ever re-use a pressure plate with good results?

Well i have never re-used a pressure plate with a new disk before.. Don't recommend it at all either.. But i do have the Mcloed disk.. and love it.. I bought the set up used with my T-56 converstion. It had about 40k on it.. that was over a year ago and 20k more miles.. Just last friday it give me some trouble at the track.. Slipping off the line and with hard shifts.. Soo i bought and new disk and a Clutch kit from autozone..

I re-used my SLP PP (LT4 with holes) with my Mcleod single disk with good results. I just sanded it to make sure there was no glaze on it. It had about 3-5k miles on it, not exaxtly sure, the stock disk that comes with the SLP didn't last that long.

Thanks guys,
Any more feedback?

I think I'll get the McLeod disk, yank the clutch to see what the PP looks like.

Does Autozone only have 1 clutch kit for LT1's?

It's always nice to have a resurfaced P/P to mate to a fresh new disk.
