Quick question

I am new to the Z28 scene and my first upgrade will be a short throw shifter. From the looks of it, the shifter can be install from the inside of the car. Do you even need to get under the car to do it?? Please advise. Thanks.

Re: Quick question

Are you talking about a short throw stick, or replacing the shifter itself?

Both are done from inside the car. Just take the shift **** off, and remove the pieces of the center console to get down to the shifter. (not sure how much you need to remove because I don't know what year or even what kind of car you have?)

If installing a short stick, just take the two 1/2" bolt out and the stock stick comes right off.

If installing a shifter, remove the 4 bolts which hold the shifter to the tranni. Use some RTV on when installing the new one.

Thomas.

Re: Quick question

As stated above you do it from inside the car. Remove console. Take the stick off the shifter. There is a rubber boot that screws to the transmisson tunnel. Remove the boot. You will see the shifter bolted to the top of the transmission with four bolts. Remove the stock shifter and clean the old rtv off the transmission. Put a bead of rtv on the transmission and bolt on the new shifter.

I'm the person you are buying the shifter from. The instructions that came with it will be included.
